CAMARADERIE

AWCMS (the Alliance) provides genuine camaraderie and a welcoming social and professional network through special interest groups, volunteer opportunities and social events.

Please visit our This Year's Events page to see our event offerings. Some of our programs are open to the community, others offer members an opportunity to invite guests, while some are specifically for our members.

The Alliance Interest Groups offer members an opportunity to explore new horizons or improve on activities they already enjoy. Current groups include our Book Club, Knitting and Crochet group and Needlework group. In the past, we've also had cycling, golf and hiking groups. If you would like to form a new Interest Group, just let us know!

We support our member's families with the Children's Play Group, which is open to members with little ones. They often go on field trips or meet at special locations. Both parents and grandparents are welcome to bring their little ones.

If you are a physician or physician spouse in Washoe County and interested in membership or one of our Interest Groups, please contact us through the links below or see our Membership page.

The AWCMS Book Club enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing holiday luncheon, hosted this year at the home of Dr. John and Mrs. Eileen Edgcomb. Chair and newly installed co-president Kim Miller along with Katy Mann and a number of others spent the afternoon eating, drinking and making merry while discussing current and classic literature. The annual book exchange followed. Pictured left to right: Jean Mullins, Lainey Lieberstein, Sue Campbell, Kim Miller, Nancy Berndt, Katy Mann, Eileen Edgcomb.

Look for a listing of future book club readings on the members only, Interest Groups page.
